Description
What this service does
F and G-series BMW engine ECUs — MEVD17, MG1 and MD1 — ship with tuning protection (TProt) that locks them against reading and writing. We perform a bench unlock that removes this protection so the ECU can be fully read and written: for tuning, cloning, data backup or repair.

What you send us
– Remote: your ECU read/dump file plus the DME part number
– Send-in: your ECU plus a note with your return address
Turnaround
Send-in: unlocked the day we receive it and returned.
A note on use
Unlocking enables full read/write access to your ECU. Any subsequent tuning — and keeping the vehicle compliant with the road and emissions regulations in your area — is the owner’s responsibility. We always recommend backing up your original file before any changes.
Warranty
12 months on the unlock.
