What this service does

The DME (Digital Motor Electronics) is BMW’s engine ECU. When it fails, a blank replacement won’t start the car — the DME is matched to your immobiliser (EWS or CAS) via its ISN, so a virgin unit would need aligning to your vehicle. We clone your original DME’s data onto your replacement unit — an exact copy that’s plug-and-drive with your existing keys and immobiliser, with no dealer and no alignment needed.

What you ship us

1. Your original (faulty) DME
2. A matching donor DME (same hardware/part number)
3. A note with your VIN and return address

The donor must match your original’s hardware/part number. If you’re not sure yours matches, send your VIN and part number first and we’ll confirm.

What’s NOT included

– DME removal/fitting — workshop or DIY
– Engine mechanical faults — this is electronics only
– Locked/encrypted DMEs whose data can’t be read — we’ll assess and advise
