What this service does

A used or donor Mercedes engine ECU still carries the previous car’s data, so it can’t just be fitted to another vehicle. We virginise FBS3-era Mercedes ECUs — resetting them to a blank, virgin state — so the ECU can be adapted (personalised) to your vehicle. This is the alternative to cloning when you’re starting from a donor unit.

Cloning vs virginising — which do I need?

– Cloning (our ECU Cloning service) — you want the replacement to be an exact copy of your original: plug-and-play, keys work, no adaptation needed. Use this when your original ECU is readable.
– Virginising (this service) — you’ve got a donor ECU and want it reset to blank so it can be adapted fresh to your car. Use this when cloning isn’t suitable or you’re working from a donor.
