Description
What this service does
The Mercedes electronic steering lock (ESL, also called ELV) commonly fails after about 8-10 years. The internal motor that drives the locking pin wears out, and the car ends up with intermittent or permanent no-start, a locked steering wheel, and a steering-lock warning. We repair and remanufacture your original ESL and send it back tested and working — you reinstall it plug-and-play, with no dealer programming or coding required, because it’s still your original unit matched to your EIS.
Symptoms this fixes
– Intermittent or complete no-start
– Steering wheel stays locked
– Key won’t turn / “remove key” or steering-lock message on the dash
– Fault codes 9003 (no feedback during unlocking) and 9005 (communication fault)
Send your VIN and ESL part number to confirm before posting
