What this service does
The M271 supercharged engine ECU in the W204 C-Class (C180/C200) commonly fails by cutting out and storing crank-angle-sensor codes – often starting intermittently and getting worse over time. It also throws knock-sensor codes that keep logging even after the sensors are replaced, and can cause throttle-body faults. We repair your own unit, rectify all the known faults, and fit higher-rated parts to keep it reliable. Because it’s your original ECU it goes straight back in plug-and-play – no coding needed.
Common symptoms
– Cuts out while driving
– Throttle-body fault codes
– Can’t relearn the throttle-body stop
– Hard to start hot
– Crank-angle-sensor codes that keep returning after a new sensor
– Knock-sensor codes that keep logging
– Engine light on the dash
Common fault codes
0335 (crankshaft position sensor electrical fault); 0324 (knock control malfunction); 3226 (N3/10 control-unit internal error); 3551 / 3553 (knock sensor 1 / 2 electrical fault); 2336-2339 (knock limit exceeded, cylinders 1-4).
